Global Fundraising Success Starts on Campus
Finding international prospect data in offices across your institution
This course is designed for Advancement VPs, Directors of Advancement Operations, and others who are involved with international fundraising at independent schools, colleges, and universities.
We will begin by looking at the basic biographical details that prospect researchers need to start international research projects. As we will see, these details often are incomplete, flawed, or missing altogether from in-house records for our international students, parents, and alumni. We will explore what these data problems mean for international prospect researchers and, by extension, the success of your global fundraising efforts.
The good news is that there are many places on your campus where you can go to start collecting better data about your international constituents. We will go on a campus tour, stopping at the Admissions office, the office of the Registrar, academic departments, and alumni affairs. Our final stop will be back in your fundraising office. We will talk about the types of biographical data that is - or could be - collect in each location.
Through nine short lectures delivered in nearly 45 minutes of video instruction, you will learn where relevant information is collected on your campus and how you can help ensure international fundraising success by developing collaborative data-collection relationships across your institution.
